Side Step is a jazz quartet out of Boston featuring saxophonists Ryan Devlin and Jordan Lerner, bassist Ian Ashby, and drummer Ryan Barski. Since 2022, the group has forged a unique sound and style, inspired by the interplay of Elvin Jones and Steve Grossman. Their 2024 debut, Blues Clues, was followed by extensive touring and concluded with their second recording, Live at Rudy’s. Their third album, The Trestle, will arrive in the Spring of 2026.
