Celebrate the Guitar in Jazz!

Join us at Con Alma for our 3rd Annual Charlie Christian Week, honoring the legacy of the jazz guitar pioneer. All week long, enjoy performances by guitar-led ensembles from Pittsburgh’s vibrant jazz scene, showcasing the depth and diversity of the instrument’s voice in jazz.

Guitarist and composer Matthew Charles Heulitt wields an uncanny ability to bridge the worlds of jazz, contemporary pop, and original music into a tapestry of soulful music. His lines on the guitar draw a constant sense of unfolding and searching that go well beyond the idioms of jazz improvisation.  MCH appears on Carlos Santana's latest record "Sentient" as well as multiple albums with Grammy award winning producer/drummer Narada Michael Walden.
